Japan's Toilets aka Washlets and their place in society
Cramped, crowded, hustling and bustling is the way many people who visit feel when visiting Japan metro areas of Tokyo, Yokohama and even Osaka. Step out to the countryside and you might be at a train station without an attendant leaving nobody to oversee if you paid or not. Many tourist in Japan are surprised with the cleanliness of both the metro areas and country side in Japan. Turn to the public bathroom at the train station, convenience store, or department store and many are surprised to see washlet bidet toilet seats with disinfectant spray. The air chair squats (aka the hover) over the toilet wont be training your core but by this time, you've been walking a ton around Japan and you'll be happy to sit on a clean public throne and get your business done.
